Ah, the real question we would all love to know the easy answer to. Unfortunately, the “secret” to getting a spot is to wait patiently behind the bar and RUN when you see a spot open up.
There are only 25 seats at the carousel bar. If I can find 3 spots for myself and my friends at the bar on the fourth of July, then I have faith you can too.
The Drinks
It’s no surprise that the drinks are expensive. I ordered the “Handshaken Pina Colada” and it was $15. However, it was absolutely delicious! Considering this bar is a major tourist attraction in NOLA the prices are actually quite fair.
Check out the full cocktail and small bites menu here.
Enjoy your spin around the enchanting Carousel Bar in New Orleans!

This post is all about the most epic 3 day New Orleans itinerary.
New Orleans is an eclectic city that sweeps you into every beat (and beignets!)
I’ve created the best 3-day itinerary for New Orleans to help you have a more successful and less stressful trip. Don’t forget to print your FREE New Orleans Printable Checklist so you don’t miss a thing!
So, you’re taking a trip to the Big Easy? Here are the recommendations I swear by to have a fantastic trip in NOLA!
Here is the BEST 3 day New Orleans Itinerary.
3 Day New Orleans Itinerary (the short version)
Day 1 – Check into your hotel. Walk around the French Quarter and have a beignet. Stop by Jackson square and St. Louis Cathedral. Visit Hotel Monteleone and have a drink at the carousel bar.
Day 2 – Explore the Garden District and Magazine Street. Brunch at the Ruby Slipper Cafe. Take a cemetery tour. Dinner and drinks on Frenchmen Street.
Day 3 – Book a fancy jazz brunch. Explore more of Bourbon Street. Dinner at Galeries. See Fritzel’s jazz band. Have a drink at the Dungeon. Enjoy your last night in Nola!
3 Day New Orleans Itinerary (the detailed version)
Day 1
Check into your hotel and get ready to explore the French Quarter.
Stop and have a beignet and cafe au lait. Cafe Beignet on Royal Street is what I recommend over the famous Cafe Du Monde.
Stroll through the beautiful Jackson Square and admire the St. Louis cathedral.
Enjoy walking in and out of thrift stores and various shops in the French Quarter. I encourage you to venture beyond bourbon street, as there are so many beautiful and interesting corners of the quarter.
Visit Hotel Monteleone and have a drink at the famous rotating Carousel bar.
Day 2
Start your day off on Magazine Street. Have brunch at the Ruby Slipper Cafe and explore the many shops lining Magazine street.
Next, admire the beautiful houses in the Garden District. Some famous houses to see are the home of Anne Rice and the filming location for American Horror Story Coven.
Book a cemetery tour to see the famous cemeteries of New Orleans. Due to the swampy terrain, graves are buried above ground which makes for a unique sight to see.
After you’ve covered the garden district, head on over to Frenchmen street for dinner and drinks.
Day 3
Your last day in NOLA! Begin with a fancy jazz brunch. I recommend Commander’s Palace, Court of Two Sisters, or Broussards. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.
We opted for Broussards, as it was suggested by a local. It was incredible!
Spend your last day back in the french quarter. Walk Bourbon Street and explore some of the hole-in-the-wall bars. Be sure to have a drink at the Dungeon!
After eating a scrumptious dinner at Gallier’s, go to Fritzel’s Jazz Club for an enchanting performance that captures New Orleans perfectly.
Have an Awesome Time in NOLA!
That concludes the most epic 3-day New Orleans Itinerary covering all the highlights and my personal favorite stops.

Valley of Fire State Park is a MUST SEE during your time in Nevada.
The name “Valley of Fire” came from from the bold red sandstone formations that formed from sand dunes 150 million years ago.
Valley of Fire from Vegas
If you’re taking a trip to Vegas, this stunning Nevada state park is only about a 45 minute drive from the strip and makes for the perfect day trip out of the city. The drive is so scenic, it goes by quick!
When planning our day trip to the Valley of Fire, it’s really up to you to decide how long you’d like to spend.
We went for a half a day (about 4 hours) and found that was a good amount of time to explore the state park by car and take some photos. However, if you’d like to hike the trails you will need a full day to do this.
Valley of Fire entrance fees
The entrance fees to the park are $10 for Nevada state vehicles and $15 for out of state. Camping fees vary $20-$30 depending on vehicle and utility hookups. Bike fees are just $2.
What to bring
You’ll definitely want to bring a good pair of shoes, water, and a camera! There is a gift shop and info center on location with beverages, snacks, maps, and general help navigating the area.
Since I’m extra, I brought two outfits – a cute one for photos and a practical one if I wanted to hike. Check out some of my favorite Vegas outfits so you can travel in style!
Exploring the Valley of Fire makes for the perfect day of adventure and is a refreshing nature break from bustling Vegas.

Looking for fun & unique Las Vegas experiences? Check out these trusted Viator excursions below:
You’ll be tired after a day of traveling, so take some time to check into your hotel and get settled.
After you unpack and locate the pool, get ready for your big night out to Fremont Street! Nacho Daddy is the perfect affordable and delicious spot to enjoy your first dinner in Vegas.
Day 2
Start your day off right with an incredible breakfast at The Henry located in the Cosmopolitan hotel. Afterward, walk around and explore the Cosmo and the Paris hotel.
In the afternoon, consider renting a car for 24 hours and drive off to see the 7 Magic Mountains art installation, located just 25 minutes from the strip.
Today you will need to get started bright and early! Leave your hotel no later than 9 am and head straight to the Vegas sign. Any later than 9:30 am, you will have to wait hours to get your photo in front of the sign.
Next, hit the road to the Valley of Fire State Park. It’s about 1.5 hour drive, but it is so beautiful, it goes by quickly.
It’s been a long day, but the fun isn’t over yet! Head back from the Valley of Fire to the Vegas strip and tour the Neon Museum. It only takes about a half-hour and it’s SO worth it!
Day 4
It’s your last full day in Vegas so make sure you have checked all the boxes of what you wanted to do.
Start your day with brunch at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel. This was my favorite brunch that I had in all of Vegas.
Explore the Bellagio gardens inside the Bellagio hotel. This is a beautiful sight to see and you won’t want to miss it! The gardens change every SEASON and it’s basically like a gorgeous art installation made with flowers. This is a must-do and it’s FREE.
After you’ve had time to walk the Las Vegas strip and enjoy some time at the pool, it’s time to go to the Venetian Hotel for dinner at Black Tap and a gondola ride through the canals.
It’s been a long day, but you can’t visit Vegas without seeing the Bellagio Fountains! The show runs frequently and only lasts a few minutes. You can find the schedule here.
Day 5
Time to leave Vegas! If you have a late flight, relax from your busy trip by the pool with a cocktail until it’s time to leave.
That concludes a jam-packed 5 day itinerary to Las Vegas!
This was my personal itinerary for my first trip to Vegas and I had a blast. However, feel free to adjust it to fit your interests. Enjoy your time in Sin City!
